Massive Open Online Course ‘Co-Creating Sustainable Cities’ now available
We are happy and proud to announce to you the latest Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS) MOOC entitled Co-Creating Sustainable Cities. With Lector Sigrid Wertheim-Heck about green spaces and food. This free, open and online course focusses on the dynamics of co-creation in developing sustainable cities, and the key principles of citizens interacting with service providing companies, technology and infrastructure developers, policy makers and researchers. Throughout the course it will be illustrated that (and why) specific forms of co-creation are preferred in specific urban socio-technical contexts. Moreover, we will investigate and compare cities (Amsterdam, Kampala, Beijing/Hanoi) on three themes that have a vast effect on city life: Water and wastewater, Energy, air, food and mobility, and Green spaces and food.
By following the course you will become equipped to indicate how you can use co-creation to develop innovative technologies, policy arrangements or social practices for a sustainable city in your own community. You will demonstrate this by developing an action plan, research proposal or project idea.
Introductions to the course will start on the 10th of October, with the first coursework starting October 17th.
The duration of the course is 8 weeks, with an estimated time effort of 4-8 hours per week.
